Sunshine Sunday: Reflections on 36

For 12 more hours, I'm still 36 years old. And then at dawn (coincidentally, that's also my middle name), I'll turn 37 -- the same age as Shawn.

And it's the same age as these celebrities who all were born in 1976: Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Reynolds (from the movie Green Lantern), Alicia Silverstone, Sean William Scott (Bo from the Dukes of Hazzard movie), Freddy Prinze Jr., Fred Savage (from Wonder Years), Danny Masterson (Hyde from That 70s Show) and a lot of others. That's not bad company to keep.

Biggest accomplishments of year 36:
  • Giving birth to that beautiful baby girl of mine
  • Watching my mom beat cancer
  • Getting a nice raise at work
  • Celebrating 12 years of marriage
  • Becoming a mother to three, successfully topping the average number of children for U.S. households
And what will the future hold? What does 37 have in store for me? Well, I'm hoping this:
  • A new zip code with a four-bedroom house and a great kitchen and at least two bathrooms
  • A monthly date night or afternoon with my husband
  • A short family vacation this summer or fall
  • A weekend away with my mom and sister
  • Career changes (I'll leave that vague for now)  :)
  • A new dress size (smaller, of course, being the goal)
  • A camping weekend with my boys
  • A shopping day with my Violet
  • An exciting and happy life change
Well, Violet is hungry and wondering why no one is feeding her so I'm going to say goodbye to 36 with some photos from the week. Happy President's Day and Happy Keesia's Birthday to you all tomorrow!

Oh my gosh... I almost forgot to say Happy 40th Anniversary to my parents, Kevin and Katy!!!!!! We took them out for lunch today before Marla's 6th birthday at the indoor swim park. We took them a balloon, flowers and a card with cash for their supper at the casino tonight. It is very wonderful to have parents who have been together for 40 years, who are happy and the center of our family unit. They have set a great example for all of us, and I'm thankful for that. We found out that mom and dad spent the first night of their honeymoon at the very hotel where we met them for lunch today! I thought that was a fun coincidence. Happy anniversary!

Miss Vi questioning why I would chose a computer screen over her sweet little face.

Best kids ever. They make me so happy!

Cutest dress ever! Present from my dear friend Jane -- it was so perfect for Valentine's Day!
