Happy 8th Birthday, Mazy!!!!!!!!

Happiest of happy birthdays to my wonderful Mazian. He'll turn 8 years old today at 1:13 p.m. Or sometime around there. :)

He talked us into opening his presents from us last night, so he was up early this morning to play with all of them. Lots of super heroes stuff, a new messenger-style school bag that he's been wanting, a gift card to spend on his Amazon Kindle Fire and some other fun stuff.

Yesterday after my morning of shopping and lunch with Shawn's mom and sister, I took M&M cookies to Mazy's classroom for an end-of-day birthday party celebration. The kids were very impressed by the cookies and thanked us over and over for bringing them. I suppose they were a nice change from the boring ol' granola bars that many parents bring. Granola bars... Good grief, what are birthdays coming to! If you can't feed kids sugar and cookies on a birthday, when can you?  :)

Once school was out, Mazy and I happily walked to the van, picked up Bo and headed to Clive for the 4:05 p.m. showing of "Rise of the Guardians." It was good! We all enjoyed it, and our giant bag of popcorn and SweetTarts, very much.

So, that brings us back to today. The birthday boy is playing with his brother with all their Iron Man stuff. Violet is crawling all around the house, growling at the cats. Shawn just ran to Casey's for donuts (long johns, specifically) for Mazy and Bo. Once he's back, I'm heading to Salon W for a haircut, then to Valley Junction for the ultra expensive cupcakes for Mazy's birthday and then back home to get organized for the party. It starts at 3 p.m. I really don't know if it will be a success or not. Shawn and I just don't know how it will work with that many people in such a small place. But oh well! Mazy is excited for it so we'll make it work.

Happy Birthday Mazian Drake Wirt Hanson! We love you so much, you little twerp, and when we celebrate your birthday each year, we also celebrate the wonderful day we became parents and changed our lives forever. Hope your 8th, and GOLDEN, birthday is everything you want it to be!
