She's here.
She's perfect.
She's a girl!!!!!!
Violet Betty Wirt Hanson born today at 11:19 a.m. Weighing in at 8 lbs, 3 oz., 19 inch. long, 19 in. head diameter and a beautiful head of reddish blonde hair! Oh she's sweet and cute and everything we dreamed about.
What I will remember most about this wonderful day, is giving birth and looking around expectantly for someone to tell me if it was a boy or a girl. And everyone in the room was looking at Shawn. And he had tears in his eyes and was speechless. And he just looked at me, in disbelief. And I said, "Well, is it a boy or a girl?" And he couldn't answer me. A nurse nudged him. The doctor laughed at him. The other nurses started to tear up. And I said, "Well someone tell me!!!" And someone said, "We're not saying. We want Dad to tell you." And I looked at Shawn again and I saw pure happiness and knew it had to be a Violet. :) The daddy's girl he has been waiting so long and hopefully for!
Later in the afternoon, he was holding her and commenting on how I make such beautiful babies (at which point I reminded him that these beautiful babies are half him as well) and he said to me: "I'm already thinking of plots for our tea parties."
I love you, Shawn. And I can't wait to see you playing tea party.
Good night, sweet Violet. We are SO happy you're here!
Sunday's blog post was great, but this one is awesome. I just love your family!
