Wedding Bells in Mississippi!

Well the first order of business this morning is to say CONGRATULATIONS to my dear, dear cousin Jordan who texted that she is engaged!!!!

Jordan is one of my three first-cousins from Mississippi who I am very close to and I could not be happier or more excited for her! She's a beautiful, sweet, fun-loving, smart and sassy woman who teaches at Baton Rogue public schools as a speech/hearing therapist for children with special needs. In short, she's awesome. ;)

Her fiancee is Brian, who I've met a couple of times and thought his rugged, outdoorsy, wild and crazy nature suited Jordan well. I've been going through photos trying to find a picture of them, but below is all I could come up with from the 2010 Wirt Picnic. Brian is in the far left (sorry for the shadows) and Jordy is next to me in the orange shirt (I'm assuming you won't confuse her with Shawn, in an orange shirt too, on my other side).

And that's Jordan's dad Dave in between the happy couple. Aahhh, weddings! What fun! I've heard this one may be scheduled for April! If that is the case.... bummer. I don't think I will be able to attend. I wouldn't miss her wedding for the world, but I might have to miss it for a newborn... If it is indeed in early April, I don't think even I am crazy enough to take a newborn, a 3 year old and a 7 year old on a drive to Mississippi. I thought about just me and the baby going, but then I thought -- "Attend a spring wedding two weeks after giving birth.... Hi everyone, do you like my stylish sweatpants? It's all I could fit into but I bedazzled them for the wedding!" No, I don't think so. But you can bet I will be thinking of them!

And the other story of the day, our first official snowstorm of the winter! Here's a look at the backyard at about 9:15 a.m. today:

Not too much snow yet, it's just starting to accumulate. Shawn is at the flea market right now and offered to stop and get our groceries for the Super Bowl party at the farm tomorrow. That leaves me to get the house picked up this morning, do some cooking this afternoon and then have a bibimbap fest tonight with the boys! First time we'll make Korean in a hot stone dish at our house and we are all looking forward to it! Happy Saturday, everyone!
