The boys were up early this morning so I got a head start on picking up the house. Shawn took Maze to art class at 9, and now I'm taking a break before finishing the downstairs. And Shawn has a date with the washing machine. We didn't do any laundry this week and needless to say, there are a few loads waiting...
If time permits this afternoon, I'd love to run by the Iowa Orchard in Urbandale for some apples and cider. I've been craving cider for several weeks and think today is the day I'll get some. Maybe I'll make Mazy go with me during Bo's nap. Or, maybe I'll put them both down for naps and enjoy a solo outing!
Yesterday, before I forget, was the quilt show at Wells Fargo! Oh what a fun day! I went with Shawn's mom, aunt, two sisters and a friend. They are a fun group and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I didn't buy a lot --just one kit of fabric and a pattern for a bargan $20 to make Bo a quilt for the van. I think I'll back it in flannel so he'll stay nice and warm this winter. I'm making Mazy and I-Spy quilt for the same purpose. There were so many cool Halloween patterns, fabrics and quilts! I really wanted to buy some of them. But instead I remembered the pile of fabrics and patterns and kits I have at home and kept my wallet in my purse.
And finally, tomorrow the boys and I are heading to Linden for the long-anticipated fishing day with Grandpa Pud. We've postponed twice, but we are for sure going tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to it. Mom is joining us. I think I'll back some snacks and drinks, and of course my camera. It's not every day you get to capture an 88-year-old teaching a 6- and 3-year-old how to fish in an Iowa pond.
