Crabs, Pretties and Books

Don't you love it when a plan comes together? Spur-of-the-moment this morning, Mom called and invited us to dinner out at Jordan Creek. This is always a risky proposition. No. 1, you're banking on the boys having good days at school/daycare so they can be rewarded with the treat of eating out and getting a new book. No. 2, you're banking that both Shawn and I can get off work early to make it to dinner at a reasonable time. No. 3, and this is the biggie, you're hoping and praying the boys are in good moods.

Well, tonight we hit our trifecta.

We met Mom at Joe's Crab Shack around 5:50. Ate a delicious supper. The boys even got to play outside on their playground for a few minutes while Mom and I finished eating our crab legs. Then we all went over to the mall. Mom wanted each of the boys, and Shawn, to pick her out a charm for her Brighton charm bracelet. Heidi and I picked out ones for her at the Brighton shop in Overland Park for her birthday. Here's what everyone chose:

Heidi = Kansas state charm with red ruby slippers
Me = merry-go-round charm with little horses that actually spin in a circle
Shawn = silver/red crown because "he's awesome" and "he's the king"
Mazy = red ruby charm because he loves red and loves jewels
Bo = crocodile charm, because the football charm he originally picked was sold out

Then we took the boys to Barnes and Noble and they were each allowed to pick out a book. Mazy picked, "Most Dangerous Reptiles" and Bo picked two Curious George books. What a fun night! Thanks, Mom!!! I hope you like all your new charms.

In other news, I have a tour scheduled at a new daycare center tomorrow. I think it's going to be very expensive... But it's very close to Mazy's school so that would be handy. Shawn called Bo's daycare today and we're trying to find a time for "the meeting." Apparently they don't want to kick Bo out just yet. They want to work on a new action plan to address his behavior, specifically, his bad behavior. :)  But I just feel like it's time for a fresh start for him. So we're going to continue to look for a new place.

Nothing else to report. Tomorrow is the surprise opera/lunch for Mazy. I'll let you know how it goes! I think I'll just take the afternoon off now, instead of trying to work from home. I'm really looking forward to it!
