Icy Ending to 2010

Although the roads were a pure sheet of ice, Mazy and I drove to Hy-Vee for our annual New Year's Eve favorite foods -- king crab legs, wild caught jumbo shrimp, ingredients to make our own sushi this afternoon, sparkling cider, champagne, crusty french bread, fresh green beans, rice pilaf, and a bunch of other stuff that in total equaled $126.87! But don't worry, a lot of it is for other meals this weekend!

So we have pizza in the oven now, and then an afternoon of games planned -- PlayStation, board games, card games, whatever we feel like doing. Tonight will be movies and more games. If Mazy takes a short nap today, he will get to stay up late tonight.

Tomorrow we are going to the Science Center of Iowa to see the DaVinci exhibit before it's gone. I'm sure it will be a mad house, but we're hoping to go early and get out of there before the crowds arrive.

And that, my dear friends, is how we shall spend the last day of this year and the first day of the new one.

I'm hoping to get Shawn and the boys to come up with some New Year's resolutions, maybe even some family resolutions! And I will let you know what we decide on. Until then, be safe, have fun and know that four people in Des Moines are thinking of you today and wishing we were with you to ring in the New Year!!!
