Homemade Rolls and Alphabet Soup

I love the last work day before the holidays. Half the office is out, and those left are in a festive mood and spend a lot of time screwing around and not working. And today, our President sent out an email around 10 and said, "Hey, let's close at 1. Start your holidays early." Whoohooo!

Mazy was at the after-school program today -- there was no school so he wanted to go there because they had lots of fun things planned, like a visit from some zoo animals! He petted a baby alligator and thought that was pretty cool. And a ferret, but he liked the alligator best. Bo was at daycare, where he had a good day -- despite the fact that he bit two children and came home with a nasty bite mark on his arm. But you know what, if they say it was a good day, who am I to disagree?

Then we came home and made homemade dinner rolls for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Mazy helped me. He was a very good roll maker. We nearly burnt one batch -- the bottoms were quite brown, so we decided to keep those for us and eat them for supper instead. Shawn made hamburger/alphabet soup. It was quite tasty, as was our bread!

Cousin Cody called from Mississippi while we were baking. I've said it before and I will say it many times, he is just the nicest guy. I love Cody! And I am so excited that he's going to be a papa next May! He and Rachel will be such great parents.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Enjoy your day, whatever your plans, and know I will be thinking of you!

Happy Thanksgiving, Gobble, Gobble!
