Time to get serious ... about house selling

Ughhhhh. This is my least favorite thing to do in the world -- clean house. And believe me, it shows. Our house is so overrun with toys and clothes and junk that I'm surprised there's not a camera crew outside hoping to turn us into a new reality show: People who live with junk.

So, this weekend we are starting the house selling process. The weather is supposed to be nice and sunny, which we haven't seen in awhile, so we're starting outdoors.

Goal 1: Create beautiful front yard landscaping. This will entail pulling a bunch of dead weeds, planting a couple of sun-loving perennials, laying down newspapers and mulching the heck out of everything. With any luck, it will keep the weeds from returning for a few months.

Goal 2: Measure front door. Go to the Habitat for Humanity resale warehouse down the road and see if I can find a nice, inexpensive replacement.

Goal 3: If time allows, plant Mazy's garden.

That's it. I'm not going to get too lofty on my goals. We do have some weekend plans. First, 7:30 a.m. trip to the farmers market tomorrow for me and Mazy. I'm going to let him pick out any three items he sees and we'll have our own Iron Chef competition for supper.

At 10:45 tomorrow, the boys will be among the first 30 riders for the 2010 Heritage Carousel season! Whoohooo! They won an online drawing for this honor. One lucky kid, Mazy is hoping it is him, will be chosen as the first rider and gets to choose which animal to ride. And, they all get free rides for the entire day! Today's photo is of me and Mazy at the carousel in 2005.

And we want to head to Ames sometime to visit Shawn's mom, who's in the hospital recovering from surgery, and get the boys fitted for new shoes.

Well, it's bedtime for Bobo.
