Buddy Toilet Papered the Tree!

Why behave when you can be naughty?

Last night Buddy the Elf took a roll of toilet paper and teepeed our house from the bathroom, down the hall, down the stairs, around the corner, through the den and up the Christmas tree! And then he put the roll of toilet paper on top of the tree where the star should go, and sat down beside it. Oh that Buddy!

I don't have much to report today. It was Monday. It is nearly over. We had gnocchi with garlic shrimp and spinach tonight, crusty bread and roasted broccoli and carrots. It was good. We were supposed to have jambalaya but Shawn bought brown rice jambalaya that takes 55 minutes to cook! 55 minutes! We get home from work at 5:45 with three starving children. We do not have time for 55-minute jambalaya.  :)  So I'm going to make it tonight and let all the flavors meld over night. Then we can have it tomorrow with our asparagus and more crusty bread. We love crusty bread.

Last night I sewed about half the binding on Maddox's quilt. I might finish the rest tonight. Or maybe tomorrow night. I mean, jeez, I have 15 days still. :)

In other news, Mazy is so excited with his new messenger bag. I love it when you find a gift that they really like! He hangs it cross-ways over his chest and looks so grown up. Tonight I started reading "Farmer Boy" to Bo. It's one of my favorite Little House on the Prairie books. It's a good one to start with for boys because it's kind of a stand alone book in the middle of the series. All about Almanzo's life in New York state. His family was rich! Especially compared to poor Laura's family. While Laura was shivering in a log cabin eating beans and venison all winter long, Almanzo lived on a huge farm and ate feasts at every meal!

Anyway, that's about all that's happening with us. Hope you have a great week!
