Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The leprechauns were at it again. They left a trail of green coins last night from the boys' room, down the hall, down the stairs, through the den, through the living room, through the dining room and ending in the kitchen. This year's treasure: green t-shirts for the St. Patrick's Day parade, big bubble wands and apple fritters for breakfast. Kind of a strange treasure. Almost as if someone forgot to go shopping or something...

But the boys were thrilled and enjoyed following the leprechauns' green coins (filled with bubble gum....) and are wearing their new shirts. They helped clean for a couple hours and then took their "bubble swords" outside for some fun in the sun and backyard.

We should be at the parade right this moment... (insert loud sigh from this tired mama) Bo had a huge meltdown right before we left. I gave him numerous chances, but finally enough was enough and they lost the privilege of the parade. Which is too bad because it is a beautiful day. But at the same time, I am a little happy because I've been cleaning, dusting, organizing and moving furniture since 7:30 a.m. and my feet and ankles look like Macy's Day balloons.... Or as Shawn so kindly called them last week: my "ham hocks."  Seriously, babe? The fact that you aren't nursing a black eye is proof of my ability to control my temper. :)

Ready for the baby
So now it's noon. The downstairs needs cleaned still. But our bedroom is ready for the baby!!! Whoohoo!!! Do you have any idea how good it feels to FINALLY be ready for him or her! You can come anytime, baby. Heck, St. Patrick's Day would be a great day to celebrate your birthday! Everyone is always in a good mood on this day and ready for spring and celebrating.

You'll be happy to know you officially have a place to sleep. There is now a bookcase with baskets devoted to your clothes, diapers, blankets, toys and other baby stuff. Shawn moved the rocking chair upstairs so you and I have a place to rock and relax. We dusted, swept, organized and threw out a bunch of stuff to create a clean, calming environment. The bedroom looks better than it has in ages. Your brothers were a huge help -- sweeping, moving books, picking up trash, hauling dirty socks out from under the bed. And then Mazy cleaned up their bedroom all by himself. It was a good morning.

And now we can relax for awhile. Everyone, have a GREAT St. Patrick's Day!!!!!
