If you are ever in Des Moines, you simply must visit the Heritage Carousel -- it is awesome. It is beautiful. It is fun and it will teach you all about central Iowa's top attractions. Really, it's a hidden gem. It overlooks the marina and the river and is truly a picturesque and scenic part of Des Moines. And rides are very cheap! Please go and support it.
