Mud Puddles Are a Boy's Best Friend

Sometimes, most times actually, the best days are the most spontaneous ones. Even though Heidi and the kids couldn't make it to Iowa this weekend, we decided the sunny skies and recent rains could only mean one thing: first mud puddle jumping of the season!

Mom made us delicious ribs for lunch and we drank Coronas in the afternoon and watched Troy burn down a giant pile of brush. Here's how the boys communed with nature on Saturday (and yes, I encouraged every splash and jump!):

We're now getting ready for Sunday in Nevada with Shawn's folks. Just sent the boys up for baths. They had them yesterday after the mud puddles, but they were outside again after that and I think there's still mud in their ears...

What's the best way to spend a Sunday morning? Coffee and breakfast eaten outdoors while the boys pick you fresh daffodils:

And one more of my favorite pics from the weekend. My boys:

In other news:
Received a postcard from Uncles T, B and S this weekend from England. It featured the royal couple, I felt so trendy receiving it! They are vacationing and may be back by now. Love getting their postcards from all their travels. I have quite a collection now!

Had supper at Grandma Maxine's last night. The boys were monsters. But Grandam made lemon meringue pie so Shawn and I were happy. Grandpa Pud already has his onions and radishes planted!
