Don't Frofh My Milk, Mama!!

After 24 hours of helping build Legos, put together new puzzles and feign terror when dinosaurs were shoved into my face, this morning it was MY turn to play with my new toys!

The first out of the box was my new hand-held milk frother! One of my guilty pleasures each week is stopping for a cup of vanilla latte on my way to work. I know it's expensive but it is often what a working mama needs to make it through a long week. Knowing my love of frothy, foamy milk, my husband found me the coolest little kitchen gadget ever! It's battery-operated, it has its own cool metal stand so it can sit on the counter within easy reach and it can froth half a cup of milk into a foamy mound four times its original size!

Needless to say, I was excited to try it out this morning. I started the coffee pot, quickly scanned the frother's directions and then poured some 1 percent milk into my tall coffee cup.

Let the frothing begin! With just an easy push-of-a-button, my milk was beautifully foamed in no time. Pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds, add coffee, a dash of cinnamon and a drop or two of vanilla -- voile! Instant coffee treat!

Of course, I was such a zealous frother that there was only room for about 1/2 cup of coffee in my mug... But that's OK -- I 'll adjust my frothing time for tomorrow morning's cup. Next, I foamed Shawn's coconut milk (non-dairy) creamer. It didn't froth as well as the cow's milk, but it still looked pretty in the cup. Then I started eying my 2-year-old's sippy cup of milk.

Me: "Hey Bo, want me to froth your milk! It'll be really cool! See, look at mine!"

I stuck my finger into my mug to demonstrate how I had magically turned plain milk into a white fluffy cloud. He looked at my finger, frowned and glared at me, and then ran off toward the living room yelling, "Don't frofh my milk, Mama!! Don't frofh it!"

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!

  1. Merry Merry Christmas. Sounds like you had a good holiday - have enjoyed reading all your blogs. We had a really great day/weekend also. Dad left about 10 this morning...driving part way today. We enjoyed him so much - so easy to have around. Bryan left this morning, Jordan about an hour ago (she debated staying another night - but wanted to get some thing done)Dave left at 7 this morning to Texas. So after all the people, just Logan and I now. She's busy in her room - we are going to go see The Little Fockers later today. We will have a couple of nice quiet days of just doing nothing. We have had snow flurries all day - love that! Know that all of you will have a fun day and next few days at your parents house. Any days off for you....I hope so! Love, Aunt C
