Floods, Tornado Warnings and Devo Tonight!

It rained, and rained, and rained some more last night. Buckets of it. The flood warnings are all in effective this weekend. There were "funnel clouds" spotted near Winterset but I don't think any touchdowns. It's very gray and humid out this morning.

The boys woke up at 6:45 a.m. today... They never get up that early! I'm taking Bo out to the farm this afternoon. I think I'll go right after lunch so he can play for awhile and then I can put him down for a nap and leave. He'll wake up and be just thrilled to be on the farm. He loves the four-wheeler. And being allowed to roam the yard and follow Grandpa to the tractor for chores.

Anyway, Devo is tonight at 8 p.m. There's no rain in the forecast right now so maybe we'll be able to have it on the Walnut Street Bridge downtown like they're planning. It had already been moved from its original site at the Simon Estes Amphitheater, which sits on the banks of the DM River, just west of Embassy Suites. Due to flooding of that site, they moved it to one of the bridges right in that area. A concert on a bridge. Kind of weird. But I'm sure very fun. The band meet-and-greet is after the concert. It will be a late night for Mazy but we'll get him down for a long nap today and let him sleep in tomorrow.

Today he and Shawn are making their Devo t-shirts to wear to the concert. I'll be sure to take pictures and post them here soon for you to see.

Also, if you get the Guthrie County Vedette newspaper -- there's an article about winners from the 4th of July parade. Mazy's name is in it for winning 1st place in the 5 and under kids coloring contest! They spelled his name wrong. Poor Mazy -- I know the life he has ahead of him, repeating his name and spelling it every single time to people. Also, my name is in the paragraph ahead of him for winning a pizza!

OK, lots of cleaning to do this morning and I'm pretty sure Bo needs a diaper change. My coffee is ready and I guess it's time to get the day going. Have a great weekend all!

Today's photos are from my new camera! Mazy got a new dinosaur book (middle), top photo is his dinosaur impersonation and bottom photo is Bo's fit Thursday night. That's pasta sauce on his face -- hence the fit, he didn't want it washed off.

  1. Who is Devo? Am I just really old and out of touch - or are they local? Spent all day at the Neshoba County Fair - good time. Over 600 great cabins...reminds of the place on Martha's Vineyard. Rachel's mothers family owns one, as does her Dad's family. Week long event - first year Rachel hasn't spent all week. JOB gets in the way. We had fun with Rachel and Cody and all her family. Have fun tonight and look forward to pictures.
