Me, Violet and Bo

Vy and I have some company today -- big brother Bo is home, catching up on Batman and sleep. He has terrible seasonal allergies right now, much like me, and did not have the greatest day at daycare yesterday. Plus, I think he needed some extra Mama time. We're going to pick up Mazy at 1:30 (early out today) so it will be a full house this afternoon! We'll test Violet's ability to sleep through noise....

Last night I made apple/celery/bread stuffed Iowa chops, braised cabbage with bacon, and steamed butternut squash. It was delicious! As Shawn said, "I could really get used to this domestic lifestyle." Me too. :)

Violet continues to be a laidback and easy-going baby. She's a chubbster, no doubt about it. If it would ever warm up, I'll get a pic of her in her Easter dress. I can't wait to see her in it. But it's going to be too small if I don't get a move on! Shawn's parents are coming by tonight. His dad hasn't seen her yet, and if I know Dwayne, he is chomping at the bit for a chance to hold her!

Also, any ideas for her newborn pics next week? I can't decide what to have her wear. Well, the craze with newborn pics is not to have them wear much of anything -- mainly a goofy hat of some kind and a diaper. It's all about photographing them while they're sleeping. Like these:

I'd originally wanted to buy her an owl hat to wear, since that was the theme of her non-existent nursery and the baby quilt I made her. But now I kind of want to do something like these sassy ruffled bloomers:

Any thoughts? Suggestions? I just emailed my friend Debbie to set up a photo shoot for next week. You have to do it quickly while they still sleep a lot!

Have a great day, everyone!
