Goodbye August

Well, I am not too sad to see August wind down. It's been beautiful weather but I am ready for the fall to begin.

Another fun weekend at the farm -- the boys went home with Mom Friday night and we headed out after lunch on Saturday to join them. Troy, Keri, Kael and Maddox came too. Fun to just hang out and let the kids play. Mom made steaks, baked potatoes, salad, fruit salad and grilled mushrooms for supper -- delicious! Grandpa Keith stopped by just as supper was winding up and we happened to have a T-bone and plenty of other food leftover so we urged him to stay and fill up.

Sunday was a quiet day at home. Let the boys veg out and play all day. Mazy got a good nap in but Bo was determined NOT to nap. So we put him to bed at 7 and all was well.

Not a lot on the schedule for this week. Labor Day weekend is starting to fill up. Saturday we're going to Adventureland with some of the family. Sunday is sewing day at my mother-in-law's house -- can't wait to start some projects again! And Monday we have left free for whatever. Nice to know a 3-day weekend is ahead.

Any good recipes for eggplant or tomatoes? Please share them. I have both coming out my ears these days! The four tomato plants in our garden have been very prolific this year. And the two eggplants are absolutely covered in them! And I think a lot of our peppers are getting ready to be picked as well.

Have a great week, everyone!
