One-Yard Wonders projects

One-Yard Wonder Projects

In January of 2011, I ordered a book called "101 One-Yard Wonders." Every pattern in the book used just one yard of fabric and could, in most cases, be completed in a day. I decided that I was going to make 50 gifts for people in 2011 using patterns from the book.

On this page I chronicle my projects and the recipients of each pattern. What a fun way to rethink gift-giving and inject some creativity into life.

Project #1: Collapsible Market Bag for Amy's going-away present

Project #1: Collapsible Market Bag
Project #2: Bedside Organizer (for me!)
Project #3: Bedside Organizer for Mazy's bed

Projects #4 and #5: Not-Ugly Car Garbage Bags
(made one for my mom and one for my mother-in-law, and two for me, but I won't count those)

The outer pocket is really handy for storing the boys' books, toys and treats.

 Project #6: Flouncy Bag

 Made for: Grandma Maxine's birthday

Favorite detail: the ribbon lining on the underside of the handle.

Projects 7 and 8 Beside Organizers for Cathy's silent auction

Projects 9, 10 and 11 Beside Organizers for Bo (blue dinos on the left) and the Downtown School silent auction in May

Project 12: Sewing Machine Cover (for me!)
